HILLSBOROUGH: Democrats say Will Kole will run for Township Committee

Filing deadline coming Monday, April 1

Will Kole will run as the Democratic organization’s Township Committee candidate. Party Chairman Michael Goldberg said petitions will be filed within the next few days to secure a line on the June 4 primary election ballot.
Mr. Kole was elected president of the Hillsborough Democrats Community Club announced in December to work closely with the official party structure.
A Hillsborough High School graduate, Mr. Kole ran for Board of Education in 2006 and for the state Assembly in the 16th Legislative District in 2007.
Monday at 4 p.m. is the deadline to file a nomination petition to secure a line on the June 4 primary election ballot. Those seeking local offices file with the township clerk, and county offices in Somerville with the county clerk.
Judd Mandel, who ran as an independent for Township Committee last year, has said he won’t seek office this year.
Township Committeeman Frank DelCore said when he was chosen as mayor at the beginning of the year that he would seek re-election as a Republican.
Anyone who wishes to file as an independent, has until the end of primary election day, June 4, to file.
There is just the one three-year Township Committee seat up for grabs this year. The ballot will be topped by the race for governor, with races for state Senate and Assembly, sheriff and one freeholder also on the ballot.
