Mr. Byrnes, 104, of Metuchen, died March 21, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Metuchen since 1954. He was predeceased by his wife, Adelaide Reilly Byrnes, in 1983; his daughter, Jeanne Quinto, in 2013; his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and John Muldowney; and his nephew, John Muldowney Jr. Surviving are his four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two nephews. Funeral services were scheduled for March 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., in the Fords section of Woodbridge, followed by a 10:15 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Metuchen/Edison YMCA or the Jewish Community Center in Edison.
