The Lions Eye Bank of New Jersey has named Walter Pardo, managing partner/founder of Wealth Financial Partners (FAS) and WFP Tax Partners, LLC (www.wealthfinancialpartners.com) and owner of Postal Annex+ in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, as the chairman of its Visionary fundraising dinner, to be held at L’Affaire Fine Catering in Mountainside on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. This celebration, which features an evening of dancing to the music of the Berkeleys, aims to honor the special relationship between the Eye Bank and New Jersey Lions Clubs.
“We are pleased to have Walter serve in this leadership role on behalf of the Eye Bank,” says Margaret Chaplin, executive director. “With his proven business and leadership skills, and given his involvement within the community, I am confident our event will be successful and will help us to fulfill our mission.”
In addition to his 20 years in the financial services industry, Walter, a Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS) and member of the Ed Slott Elite IRA Advisory Group, is also a strong supporter of local community organizations. He is a member of the Summit Lions Club, and is an active alumnus for his alma maters, Norwich University: Military College of Vermont. He resides in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with his wife, Suzanne, and daughters, Isabel and Natalie, but considers Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, New Jersey, his home away from home.
"One of my core principles is altruism: I have to give it away to get it,” explains Walter. “I am very proud to be on the board of the Lions Eye Bank of New Jersey, and to be able to spread the message of awareness of eye, organ and tissue donation and the hope it represents. I’m sure all who join our cause will share in my enthusiasm!"
At the Visionary dinner, the Eye Bank will honor Richard Zimmermann, PDG, and Steve Domovich, PDG, as Visionaries of the Year. They were selected for the honor because of their exceptional commitment to eye, organ and tissue donation and the Eye Bank’s mission of sight restoration and preservation.
Tickets to attend the Visionary dinner and dance are $75 per person. The evening’s festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. and include a cocktail reception, dancing, dessert table and 50/50 raffle.
