The Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 86th Memorial Day parade and ceremony at 10 a.m. May 27, rain or shine.
All chamber members, nonmembers, civic groups and businesses, as well as veterans and active-duty personnel home on leave, are invited to participate in the parade. Veterans and active-duty personnel should contact the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce by May 17 so that special arrangements can be made for their participation.
Due to construction at the Lake Avenue Bridge, the parade route and ceremony location has changed this year. The parade route will begin from the Pearl Street lot, proceed down New Street, turn right at Main Street, follow Main through town, turn right at Brunswick Avenue, and end at the Edgar Middle School, 49 Brunswick Ave. The Memorial Day ceremony will take place inside the Edgar Middle School gymnasium at the conclusion of the parade.
