PRINCETON AREA: Police blotter

Princeton
   A resident of Hillside Road reported someone entered his or her house by forcing open the rear door sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 13. Police said it was unknown if anything had been taken at the time of the report.
   Yrclie Dauphin, 25, of Morrisville, Pa., was charged with having active warrants totaling $228 out of Trenton after getting pulled over on Route 206 near Arreton Road on May 13 at 8:13 p.m.
   Kabbila Ford, 23, of Trenton, was charged with hindering apprehension and having active warrants in the amount of $550 out of Lawrence after getting pulled over on South Harrison Street near Prospect Avenue on May 14 at 11:30 p.m.
   A resident of Griggs Drive reported an acquaintance forged her name on several checks over the course of 18 months to deprive him or her of owed money. Police said the total amount of fraud is more than $80,000 and that the incident is under investigation.
   CVS on Nassau Street reported a white male had shoplifted items from the store on May 14 at 12:08 p.m. An employee described the suspect as 5-foot-10 and about 20 to 30 years old with short brown hair and a medium build. The employee said the man was wearing a dark long-sleeved T-shirt and blue jeans. Police said the amount of the theft was unknown at the time of the report.
   Jeffrey Johnson, 51, of Princeton, was charged with having an active warrant for $380 out of Freehold after getting pulled over on Madison Street near Park Place on May 14 at 7:18 a.m.
   A male Princeton teenager, 17, and Elizabeth Socolow, 72, of Lawrenceville, were in a car accident after the juvenile allegedly rear-ended Ms. Socolow’s car on Hamilton Avenue, near the intersection of Walnut Lane on May 13 at 5:56 p.m. Ms. Socolow was taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro and the juvenile received a summons for careless driving.

Plainsboro
   Venkata Avula, 27, of Charlotte, N.C., was charged with driving while intoxicated on Schalks Crossing Road on May 15 at 3:15 a.m. He also received summonses for improper left turn, improper U-turn and reckless driving.
   A resident of Ravens Crest Drive reported his white 1999 Acura Integra with white rims and red lug nuts was stolen from the parking lot of building 60 in the apartment complex sometime between 10:30 p.m. on May 13 and 8 a.m. on May 14. The estimated value of the car is $6,500.
   A resident of Hunters Glen Drive reported receiving a fake check for $2,700 in response to his online classified ad seeking a roommate with rent set at $1,000 sometime between April 28 and May 8. Police said the victim had sent the $1,700 balance to a person in England and then tried to wire the original check for $2,700, but was told by the bank it would not clear.
   Latasha N. White, 32, of Lawrenceville, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia after getting pulled over on Route 1 on May 14 at 8:31 p.m. She also received summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, speeding and reckless driving.
   Christopher F. Brancone, 18, of Plainsboro, was charged with driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after getting pulled over on Plainsboro Road on May 14 at 10:36 p.m. He also received summonses for reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, improper turn and failure to observe a traffic signal.
