Princeton youth soccer coach Jorge Roman, 48, was arrested on Thursday on a charge of possessing images of child pornography.
Federal agents from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service first filed a complaint against him and, upon searching his home, law enforcement officers said they found movies of minor boys, many as young as 12 years old, posing nude.
Mr. Roman is accused of ordering DVDs, photo CDs and downloadable links of movies featuring child pornography, marketed as “naturalist films from around the world.” He has allegedly purchased these videos, either via mail or the Internet, on more than 40 occasions during the past five years.
In addition to coaching youth soccer, Mr. Roman is listed online as a staff member of the Princeton Soccer Association. He is also an assistant soccer coach at Rider University, and previously coached at Princeton University, according to his website.
Mr. Roman was detained in a Trenton federal court pending bail. The maximum penalty he faces for these charges is 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
