HILLSBOROUGH: College graduates share their news

It’s commencement time for students

   Michael Daly of Hillsborough graduated summa cum laude from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., with a bachelor of science degree in marketing. Michael received the William G. McGowan School of Business Award for Marketing, and gained National Honor Society recognition for his four years at King’s. He will pursue a career at Vanguard Group in June.
   Monika Borkowska of Manville received her bachelor of science degree in justice studies and criminal justice at the Woodbridge campus of Berkeley College.
   About 1,900 students from Berkeley locations in New Jersey and New York and online received bachelor’s and associate’s degrees. It was the largest graduating class in the history of the college.
   Two Hillsborough residents received degrees from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., during commencement May 12 at TD Bank Sports Center.
   Brianna Patane received her doctoral degree in physical therapy, and Daniel Reiss of Hillsborough gained his master’s degree in business administration.
   Denise D’Ascenzo, a local television anchor and broadcast journalist, addressed the 747 graduates.
   Carlin Dunne graduated with honors from The College of New Jersey on May 16. She double-majored in elementary education and math, science and technology. Carlin was also the recipient of the 2013 Sport Club Memorial Fund Award and was selected for the “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” program.

   Kristi Boch of Hillsborough graduated from Kutztown (Pa.) University on May 18 with honors as a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, the sociology honor society. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in sociology with a minor in advertising.
   Andrew Robbins of Hillsborough graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the School of Engineering at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., on May 26.
   Carolyn Kolb of Hillsborough graduated from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., with a bachelor of science in health science/pathologists’ assistant at the undergraduate commencement held May 19.
