SOUTH BRUNSWICK: District honors 23 retirees

At Monday night’s Board of Education meeting, the district recognized 23 employees who announced their plans to retire at the end of the year.

At Monday night’s Board of Education meeting, the district recognized 23 employees who announced their plans to retire at the end of the year.
   ”These 23 dedicated employees will be leaving our community after having put in a cumulative total of 436 years of service to our school district.” Assistant Superintendent Joanne Kerekes said.
   Each retiree received a gift from district administrators, who sponsored the event, and had a book dedicated in their honor at their individual school’s library.
   The recognition ceremony opened with a musical performance from the Crossroads South middle School Vocal Ensemble under the direction of music teacher Lisa Lepore.
   The group just returned from its award-winning weekend during an annual competition at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania.
   Retirees honored included; Judy Adam, Sharon Benjamin, David Carmichael, Kathleen Choma, Eileen Cooke, Deborah Daley, Joanne D’Angelo, Eve Fellner, Mary Foley, Janet Gleim, John Ketterer, Frances Kurocka, Joseph Manga, Roberta Marciniak, Erika Pietrefesa, Kaerta Pletenyik, Marilyn Pruce, Carmine Setticerze, Martha Sletteland, Delores Smith, Pamela Weis, Terri Zeeman, and Eileen Zweig.
   ”It is truly an honor and a privilege to participate in a ceremony such as this one where we pay tribute to such dedicated employees” said Board President Stephen Parker.
   ”These long serving employees have served our school district with great honor” Superintendent Dr. Gary McCartney said. “The students, parents, and employees of this district thank these people for their services over these past years.”
