Hinkle, Fingles & Prior, attorneys at law, is proud to announce that Maria Fischer, Esq., an attorney with the firm, has been appointed to serve on the board of directors of Special Olympics New Jersey. Fischer has dedicated her legal career to representing the interests of children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. One of Fischer’s daughters has multiple disabilities, and is also a Special Olympics athlete.
"I am so deeply honored to be able to give back to the community in this way," said Fischer. "I have tremendous respect for the work that Special Olympics New Jersey does, and I am thrilled to serve as a volunteer member of their board."
Fischer’s legal work focuses on guardianship, estate planning, and helping families of adults with disabilities access and retain appropriate services. Prior to joining Hinkle, Fingles & Prior, she interned with the Family Law Clinic at Seton Hall University and the New Jersey Department of Public Advocate, where she conducted legal research and drafted papers on civil rights, healthcare, education and administrative law.
In addition to her board appointment at Special Olympics, Fischer also serves on the Board of Directors of The Arc of Mercer County. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars.

The attorneys have over 85 years of combined experience providing specialized legal services to families of children and adults with a wide range of disabilities and seniors, and have argued many of the precedent setting cases affecting people with disabilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
