MONTGOMERY: Fireworks postponed to July 11 due to severe weather threat

Public Safety officials have postponed this year’s Independence Day celebration and fireworks event, originally scheduled for Thursday, June 27, to the rain date of Thursday, July 1

   MONTGOMERY— Public Safety officials have postponed this year’s Independence Day celebration and fireworks event, originally scheduled for Thursday, June 27, to the rain date of Thursday, July 11.
   Officials cited possible severe weather and 80 percent chance of rain and other safety concerns for the large crowd anticipated as the reason.
   Official said the township must always err on the side of caution for the sake of the public’s safety.
   Priority parking passes to be honored July 11.
   Passes are still available for sale, in person, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for $15 at the reception desk at the Otto Kaufman Community Center across from the side entrance of the high school on Skillman Road. Exact change or check only please.
   This event is completely funded by contributions from individuals, corporations, small business leaders, and fees from high quality vendors and nonprofit organizations.
   Activities will include music, games and food starting at 6 p.m. and continuing to dusk.
