He teaches, host tournaments at the library

Chess may seem complicated to some, but for Henry Drake it is a pleasure he shares with others weekly.
Mr. Drake shares his passion at the Manville Public Library by teaching youngsters how to play the game.
”I enjoy it and I enjoy teaching and it is a pleasure,” he said. “The kids are fun to be around, they have a good sense of humor, and they are learning.”
He teaches one on one and has organized tournaments for youngsters in grades 1-12. His next one is 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, in the library’s community room.
Every Saturday he is at the library with the Chess Club from 10 a.m. to noon to help others with their game. Mr. Drake welcomes anyone up to age 17 to join.
”They can play for the whole two hours or for five minutes,” he said.
