   Lawrenceville Main Street (LMS) will host its 12th annual Music in the Park summer concert series on Thursdays at 7 p.m. The weekly concerts run through Aug. 22. All concerts take place in Weeden Park on Main Street (Route 206) just south of Craven Lane in Lawrenceville. Bring blankets or chairs to relax in the open air.

   The Lawrence Township Senior Center is open for Stay Cool Fun Nights for bingo, computers, board games, cards, dominoes, fun and fellowship 6 to 8:30 p.m. Lawrence residents, 60 years of age and older, are urged to attend.    Ralph Schlegel, a retired editorial cartoonist, will exhibit illustrations and cartoons that appeared over a 30-year period in the Times of Trenton, Newsweek, Business Week, Smithsonian Magazine, Philadelphia Magazine, The New York Times, as covers of U.S. News & World Report and other publications, at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch Library. The display will also include work from children’s books and greeting cards designed by Mr. Schlegel.

   Nobel Prize-winning Polish poet Wislawa Szymborska (1923–2012) will be discussed at the 7 p.m. Poetry Circle at the Lawrence Branch of the Mercer County Library System, 2751 Brunswick Pike. Her poetry is often noted for its wit, irony, and deceptive simplicity. Her poetry examines domestic details and occasions, playing these against the backdrop of history. A special after hours Preview Night will be held Friday. The library will be closed for normal operations during those hours but you will have the first chance to get some amazing deals.    The World’s Favorite Arias. The Boheme Opera New Jersey will present a 7 p.m. lecture at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch Library, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence, featuring both live singing and recordings of favorite arias. The lecture will begin with a short introduction to the early history of opera including samples from Handel and Mozart.
