Wells Fargo has awarded $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County to support its career launch program, which provides high school members with the skills necessary to enter the workforce and prepare to enter college or technical school.
Support from Wells Fargo will help advance the Club’s commitment to help hundreds of its teen members graduate high school and prepare for college or technical school.
”Wells Fargo is proud to partner with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club, which provides critical workforce readiness programs to teens, ultimately helping to support and strengthen our communities,” said James Newson, regional banking area president.
The Boys & Girls Club career launch and work-readiness programs help teens explore career pathways and develop basic job-readiness skills, such as interviewing and writing resumes. The programs also provide teens with work experiences through social entrepreneurial programs.
”Thanks to supporters like Wells Fargo, we are able to ensure each young adult is equipped with resources for their future success and can reach their full potential,” said David E. Anderson, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club.
The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County provides children and teens with educational enrichment, career preparation, and recreational activities through after-school, weekend, and summer programs. The Club serves 2,300 youths annually at 14 program locations.
