PLAINSBORO — An 18-year-old newcomer couldn’t best the two incumbents in the Nov. 5 election for Township Committee.
Matt Greenburg earned 1,441 votes while his opponents David Bander and Ed Yates garnered 2,323 and 2,376 votes respectively to keep their seats on the committee.
As the newest member of the Plainsboro Township Committee, Mr. Bander said he is humbled by and extremely grateful for the support he received on Tuesday.
”I look forward to continuing my work with Mayor Cantu and the Township Committee,” Mr. Bander said. “I believe the election results show that Plainsboro residents support our commitment to strong fiscal management and sensible planning. Ed Yates and I will continue to work hard to ensure that Plainsboro remains one of the best places to live in New Jersey.”
Mr. Yates said he is extremely grateful to the residents of Plainsboro for the opportunity to once again serve on the Township Committee.
”I would like to thank my wife Blanche and my family for all their support and encouragement during this campaign,” Mr. Yates said. “The election results prove that you can run a positive campaign and still be successful. I look forward to serving with Mayor Peter Cantu and the rest of the committee in the coming years. David Bander and I will continue to work hard to ensure that Plainsboro will always be a great place to live and work.”
Mr. Greenberg did not respond to calls for comment prior to press time.
