Bible lecture series slated for Dec. 6-7

Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave., Metuchen, will hold a Scholar-in- Residence program Dec. 6-7.

Rabbi Burt Visotzky, professor at the Jewish Theological Seminary, will present “Bible: The Word of God or Hand of Moses?” on Dec. 6; and “Scripture and Its Interpretation: Continuing Revelation” and “The Sins of Sodom are Not What You Think: Text Study” on Dec. 7.

On Dec. 6, dinner will start at 6:30 p.m., services will be held at 7:30 p.m. and the rabbi will speak at 8 p.m. On Dec. 7, services will start at 9:30 a.m., followed by a light kiddush lunch. It is not necessary to attend meals to participate in services or the program.

Cost for the dinner is $18 per adult and $9 per child. Attendees may bring their own wine. The deadline for dinner reservations is Nov. 26. The program is open to the public. For more information, contact Hazzan Levin at 732-548-2238, ext 14.
