HILLSBOROUGH: Libraries to provide information on Obamacare law

In Hillsborough, sessions are every Saturday into March

   The Affordable Care Act (ACA) takes effect in January. By March all Americans will be required by law to have health insurance.
   The Somerset County Library System is hosting information and enrollment assistance services for individuals, families and small business owners. Cognosante Enrollment Assistance Services will be available to answer questions and assist community members with signing up for the Affordable Health Care Act.
   Dates are:
   — At the Hillsborough Library, 379 South Branch Road, 908-369-2200, on Saturdays, Dec. 7 through March 29, at 1 p.m.
   — At the Bound Brook Memorial Library, 402 High St., 732-356-0043, on Thursday, 3:30–8 p.m., and Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
   — At the Manville Library, 100 South 10th Ave., 908-722-9722, Mondays, 3:30-8 p.m., and Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
    — At the Bridgewater Library, 1 Vogt Drive, Bridgewater, 908-526-4016, on Wednesdays, 3:30-8 p.m., and Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
   — At the North Plainfield Memorial Library, 6 Rockview Ave., 908-755-7909, on Tuesdays, 3:30–8 p.m. and Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
      The enrollment assistance programs are being offered cost free to all Somerset County residents. Partnering with the CognoSante, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health, SCLS is offering this service to help local residents in obtaining the health care insurance coverage they will need.
   Applicants will need to bring information in order to complete the enrollment process includes:
   — Current healthcare insurance (if applies) and policy numbers;
   — IInformation about health care coverage available through current jobs;
   — Social security numbers (or documentation for legal immigrants);
  —  Household income;
   — Employer and income information verification for every member of household requiring coverage (pay stubs or W-2 forms are acceptable).
   ”We recognized a need for navigating through the ACA process as it is often confusing. By partnering with CognoSante, we are happy to provide this service,” noted Mun Hwa Chen, head of adult services with the county library.

   The county library system has branches in Bridgewater, Bound Brook, Hillsborough, Manville, at the Mary Jacobs Library in Rocky Hill, North Plainfield, Peapack-Gladstone, Somerville, Warren Township and Watchung.
