A Lawrence Township resident was robbed of his cell phone, valued at $800, when a man snatched it from his hands as he walking in the Quaker Bridge Mall at 10:06 p.m. Nov. 28, according to police Sgt. Joseph Amodio.
The victim told police the man came up behind him and grabbed the T-Mobile cell phone and ran. A police officer on patrol at the mall chased the suspect, who was described as a black male wearing tan pants and a tan vest, Sgt. Amodio said.
The officer chased the suspect out of the mall into the neighboring Avalon Run development, Sgt. Amodio said. The Trenton Police Department’s K-9 unit was called in. The K-9 dog traced the suspect’s scent to Lawrence Station Road and then lost the scent.
