PRINCETON: Ruptured gas line at university causes evacuation

More than 500 people in 11 Princeton University buildings were evacuated Monday morning after a gas leak just south of the McCosh Health Center.

   More than 500 people in 11 Princeton University buildings were evacuated Monday morning after a backhoe caused a gas leak just south of the McCosh Health Center.
   The campus buildings were evacuated and the gas was turned off just before 10 a.m., according to Princeton University spokesperson Martin Mbugua.
   There were no reported injuries, according to Mbugua.
   The buildings were allowed to be reoccupied at 12:40 p.m.
   PSE&G, Princeton Fire Department, Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad, the University’s Department of Public Safety, Office of Environmental Health and Safety, and Site Protection responded to the incident, according to Mbugua.
