The popular tradition of celebrating Christmas in Roebling, initiated four years ago, continues this year Dec. 14 at the Roebling Museum.
The popular tradition of celebrating Christmas in Roebling, initiated four years ago, continues this year Dec. 14 at the Roebling Museum.
The museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will have a discounted admission of $5. Children 2 and under free.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taking time out of their busy North Pole schedule to visit and hand out keepsakes to children throughout the day. Parents can also purchase a photograph of their child, or themselves, with Santa as he sits on the same chair that he used for many years in the historic Roebling General Store.
Attendees will also the festive mood created in the museum from the glow of tree lights, the sounds of Christmas music and the happy laughter of the children waiting to see Santa.
The museum will be decorated with Christmas Trees designed by local businesses, churches, school and social organizations. The trees will reflect themes related to the community and Roebling history. Warm cider and cookies will also be served.
Christmas music will fill the air and the kids can create their own craft to take home. Also, the museum store will have a special holiday sale for those last minute gifts and stocking stuffers.
The Roebling Museum is dedicated to telling the story of John A. Roebling’s Sons Company located in Roebling and Trenton , the village of Roebling and the innovations and technological achievements of the family that changed the industrialized world.
The museum is located at 100 Second Avenue in Roebling. Parking is available at the back of the museum just off Hornberger Avenue and at the Light Rail Station. Visitors can take the Light Rail; the museum is a short walk from the Roebling stop.
