Seminar, networking opportunity to focus on college, career preparedness

EDISON — The Career and Technical Education Partnership (CTEP) Marketing Project will hold a free College and Career Readiness Seminar for students, teachers and guidance counselors from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at Middlesex County College, 2600 Woodbridge Ave., Edison.

The event features a keynote address from Jasmine Young- Trinidad, a music and entertainment executive; interviews with sports marketing and social media professionals; five breakout sessions on topics such as career readiness and job seeking; and a networking opportunity.

The seminar opens with the keynote address, followed by the career-development panel. Participants will then have time to attend a networking session and three of the five breakout sessions.

Topics for the breakout sessions are “How to Pick a College,” “Building a Student Portfolio,” “Business-to- Business or Consumer Marketing, Which One is Right for Me,” “Where Are the Jobs? How Do I Get Hired?” and “What It Means to Be Career Ready.”
