Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport will be offering new bonus programs for trainers and owners during the 2014 racing season.
Throughout the course of Monmouth’s 2014 summer meet — slated to begin on May 10 — a trainer will receive a $300 bonus for every non-state-bred starter, regardless of surface.
Additionally, owners will receive a minimum of $700 for every non-state-bred dirt starter and a minimum of $500 for every open-turf runner.
New Jersey breds will continue to be eligible for a 40-percent purse bonus when running against open company.
Monmouth’s 2014 stall application form is now available under the “Horsemen” tab at www.monmouthpark.com. The deadline to submit a stall application is March 13.
The 2014 Hat Trick for MHA (Mental Health Association of Monmouth County) Adult Charity Ice Hockey Tournament is set to begin on Feb. 28.
The preliminary round, which is a three-game round robin, will take place on Feb. 28 through March 1 at Jersey Shore Arena in Wall. The top two teams will advance to the Prudential Center for the March 2 championship.

The Cheesequake Baseball Association will be holding registration for the 2014 spring season on Feb. 22 and March 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cheesequake Field on Route 9 North and Schulmeister Road in Old Bridge.

The Monmouth County Park System will host the E. Murray Todd Half- Marathon at 9 a.m. March 2. The 13.1-mile course begins at Brookdale Community College on Newman Springs Road in Lincroft, and continues through residential areas of Lincroft, Holmdel and Colts Neck.

Preregistration is accepted online or through the mail until Feb. 25. Preregistration costs $30 per person. Race day registration begins at 7:15 a.m. and costs $40 per person.

The U15 Hazlet Storm boys travel soccer team is holding open tryouts. The Storm are looking for players to join the team and guest-play in tournaments. The team is professionally trained and practices year-round in excellent facilities.

Central Jersey Umpire Association (CJUA) is looking for new or experienced baseball and softball umpires. The CJUA, one of the largest umpire organizations in the state, is looking for men or women who like the game, want to make some extra money and would like to become certified umpires by CJUA. The association has games from March until November, baseball and softball games from 7U to summer college.
The CJUA will train prospective umpires. Weekly Cadet classes start the first week in February.

Sky Blue FC, in conjunction with Georgian Court University (GCU), announced an exclusive partnership to make the university the club’s “Official Training Grounds” for the 2014 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season.
“We are extremely pleased to announce the formation of this ground-breaking partnership between Sky Blue FC and Georgian Court University,” Sky Blue FC President and general manager Tony Novo said in a press release. “In considering a training location, we were looking for not only firstclass facilities, but also a partner that we could grow with — and GCU is a fantastic fit.”
Founded in 1908 by the Sisters of Mercy, the university sits on a 156-acre campus in Lakewood. The convenient location is just minutes from the Jersey Shore and sits midway between Philadelphia and New York City.
Through the partnership, Sky Blue FC will have full access to all GCU facilities, including the GCU Wellness Center (stateof the-art athletics building), Investors Savings Bank Field (main game field) and additional practice fields. The GCU Wellness Center features a fitness center, athletic training room, hydro room, locker rooms, team meeting space, player lounges, a café, a library and more.
GCU competes at the NCAA Division II level and is a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The school proudly offers 14 varsity sports, including women’s soccer.
