PRINCETON: Deer hunt to begin Feb. 15

The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife has announced that the annual deer hunt and management program will begin on or about Feb. 15 in Princeton.

   The New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife has announced that the annual deer hunt and management program will begin on or about Feb. 15 in Princeton.
   The hunt, carried out by Princeton’s agent, White Buffalo Inc., will take place on private properties and on one or more public properties.
   The hunt is expected to be concluded by March 31.
   The following public properties could be included:
   • Gulick Farm
   • Mercer County Herrontown Woods Arboretum
   • Pretty Brook/Great Road
   • Rosedale – Green Acres
   • Historic Overlook and Stony Brook/Quaker Road (Block 9801, Lots 4, 9, and 10 – approximately 38 acres located between Mercer Streetand Route 206)
   • Mountain Lakes Reserve (Portions of Block 5201, Lots 2 and 29.14 only)
   • Van Dyke Woods/Smoyer Park
   Princeton’s operations in public will take place only after the parks close at dusk and will be completed before they reopen. The Princeton Police Department will provide security by directly supervising the White Buffalo activities and patrolling the parks while hunting takes place.
