Scholarships available for high school seniors

The Robert J. and Deborah A. Chalfin Family Foundation is accepting scholarship applications from Metuchen-Edison students who will be graduating from high school in 2014.

Interested students can access an application at www.chalfin.com by clicking the “Foundation” tab. The 2014 application is due on or before May 9.

The 2013 recipients of the Robert J. and Deborah A. Chalfin Family Foundation scholarships were Tara Ali-Khan of Metuchen High School, who received $1,000 to attend the Pratt Institute, N.Y.; Elizabeth Baran of Metuchen High School, who received $1,000 to attend Rutgers University; Rebecca Graham of Metuchen High School, who received $1,000 to attend the University of Virginia; Jenna Sedlack of Metuchen High School, who received $750 to attend School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and Jake Silverman of Metuchen High School, who received $250 to attend Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.

The Robert J. and Deborah A. Chalfin Family Foundation has awarded more than 40 scholarships to high school seniors from the Metuchen-Edison area since 2005.

The members of the foundation’s Advisory Board are Benjamin Chalfin, Deborah Chalfin, Robert Chalfin, Steven Danatos, Paul Gazaleh, Jeanne Kushinsky and LiliAnn Paras.
