St. Jude’s hospital fundraiser shows that ‘Campbell Cares’

METUCHEN — Students at the borough’s Campbell Elementary School put in hard work to provide help for children with cancer.

Teachers Tara Pata and Erin Santasieri helped their classes organize a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where families of children with cancer never receive a bill for services rendered. Campbell families raised more athan $800 for the cause.

The students spent many hours decorating the halls with “Campbell Cares” certificates. They also made rainbow loom bracelets and “Get Well” cards for the children.

Marli Grossman, regional office representative for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in New York, presented the school with a plaque. She said she was amazed by the students and their compassion for others.
