The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey recently awarded its first round of 2014 grants, totaling $745,000, to support 16 New Jersey nonprofit organizations, including two local theaters.
New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch received a $10,000 general operating support grant to fund the Main Stage Series, Developmental Reading Series, Diversity Initiative, Theatre Brut Short-Play Festival, Young Playwrights Project and the Free Ticket Program for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Two River Theatre Company in Red Bank received a $10,000 grant to support the Theater Access for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities program, which provides sign interpretation, open captioning, audio description, assistive listening devices, large print playbills and wheelchair accessibility.
