Comedy night: The St. Jude Council Knights of Columbus sponsors its 7th annual show in the Christ the Redeemer Parish Auditorium at 98 South Main St. The PG show features comedians from New York and Atlantic City. Doors open at 7 p.m., with show at about 8. Must be age 21. You can bring your own beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. Tickets are $20. To reserve a table, call Mike Cigler at 908-707-1437.

Band fundraiser: "Jazz Under the Stars," with the Garden State Jazz Band, from 7 to 10 p.m. in high school courtyard. Tickets at $20 benefit school music programs.
Sat., June 7
Schools in session: Students and staff will make up the day lost when floods caused the cancellation of classes on May 1. Early dismissal: The high school, intermediate and Roosevelt schools will dismiss at 11:55 a.m. and Weston at 12:15 p.m. No lunch or breakfast served.
Family picnic: Manville Republican Club holds family event and fundraiser for fall campaign. Games, DJ, contests, food, noon to 4 p.m. Eagles on Route 28 in Bridgewater. $20 for an individual or $35 for a family up to four. For tickets and info, call 908-285-2922.

Slavic dinner: St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church holds monthly dinner, 4 to 7 p.m., St. Mary Parish Center, 1900 Brooks Blvd. $13 for adults (ages 9 and up) and $5 for children (8 and under). All-you-can-eat pirohi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes. A surprise entrée will be prepared by St. Mary’s chef John Pagano. Orders to go are available.
