Mamet production set at Edison playhouse

Fearless Productions will present David Mamet’s “Sexual Perversity in Chicago” at the Edison Valley Playhouse, 2196 Oak Tree Road, Edison.

The play examines the sex lives of two men and two women. It contains extremely mature content and adult themes, and is not recommended for children.

In the story, two male office workers, Danny and Bernie, are out to meet the most attractive women in Chicago. The play is filled with regional jargon that reflects the working-class language of Chicago. The characters’ relationships become hindered by the caustic nature of their words, as much of the dialogue includes insults and arguments.

The audience will also be treated to a curtain warmer called “Gravediggers.” Performances are set for 8 p.m. July 11, 12, 18 and 19, and 2 p.m. July 13 and 20. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $15 for seniors and students.
