On behalf of Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, I would like to thank the many people in the greater Princeton community who supported the seventh annual Poetry in Motion 5K Run/Walk held at Stuart.
More than 160 people registered for the event, raising approximately $12,000 for Stuart’s Lies, Light, McCarthy Visiting Author Program.
A dream of the late Mrs. Vickie Flournoy McCarthy ’71, a beloved Stuart teacher and alumna, this program brings best-selling authors such as Jonathan Safran Froer, Naomi Shihab Nye, Edwidge Danticat and Jane Hirshfield as well as Pultizer Prize winners Jhumpa Lahiri and Paul Muldoon, into our classrooms to work with Stuart girls.
We are grateful to the many volunteers who made our event go smoothly, and especially to our sponsors; Encon Mechanical, J. Zavotsky, M.D. Central Jersey Surgical Specialists, Nikki and Brinton Frith, Pins and Needles, d2 solutions inc, Leigh Imaging Solutions, Class of 2008, Class of 2011, Ajemian- Manzulli family, the Rangecroft family, the Starke family and the Vera family each of whom contributed to this wonderful cause.
