‘Jersey Girl’ author set for Deadly Ink gathering

Author Jo-Ann Reccoppa, a native of Old Bridge, will sign and sell her new mystery novel and take part in other activities during the 2014 Deadly Ink Mystery Conference planned for Aug. 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick. Reccoppa’s first novel in her Jersey Girl Mystery series is “New Math Is Murder.” The second installment in the series, “Hide Nor Hair,” is set for release in October.

The conference will kick off with a full day of Deadly Ink University classes for aspiring writers, taught by authors Jane Cleland and Chris Roerden. Official registration will take place that evening. A Deadly Desserts Party and a welcoming program will follow.

Guests of honor for the conference are husband-and-wife authors Donald Bain and Renee Paley-Bain, who collaborate on the “Murder, She Wrote” tie-in mystery novels. Panels and presentations by the more than 20 attending authors and other mystery and crime experts will take place Aug. 2 and 3. An awards dinner is planned for Aug. 2. All authors will have copies of their books available for purchase and will hold signings throughout the weekend.

Registration fee for the full conference, including Deadly Ink University, Deadly Desserts, the Saturday lunch, Saturday banquet and Sunday brunch, is $250. There are several a-la-carte options including the conference minus the university and banquet, $200; no university or meals, $125; Deadly Ink University only, $75; and a Saturdayonly option featuring lunch but not the banquet, $95.
