MANALAPAN — Police are investigating the theft of landscaping equipment valued at $1,000 from a home on Church Lane on Aug. 9.
Police said at 1:15 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to the home and was told by the resident that unknown individuals had removed multiple pieces of landscaping equipment. The items were left unsecured in a trailer and removed sometime between 5 p.m. Aug. 8 and 9 a.m. Aug. 9. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 732-446-4300.
In other incidents reported by police:
On Aug. 8, Patrolman Richard Gallo responded to an Arrowood Road address for a burglary/theft report. The officer was told that unknown individuals forcibly entered an outdoor storage closet at the residence and removed property totaling $400. The incident took place between Aug. 4 and Aug. 8.
On Aug. 6 at 2:40 p.m., Patrolman John Lightbody responded to a home on Sherri Drive for a theft report. The owner of a landscape company reported that his company was doing work on the yard and unknown individuals took a leaf blower off the truck. The leaf blower is valued at $450 and is described as a Husqvarna backpack-style leaf blower.
On Aug. 3 at 5:29 a.m., Patrolman Steven Turner responded to a Valley Road residence for a report of burglary to a motor vehicle. The resident’s vehicle was parked and unlocked in the driveway. The resident said he saw an individual about 6 feet tall and wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt fleeing the area on foot. The suspect fled in an unknown direction after removing cash from the vehicle.
On Aug. 2 at 1:45 a.m., Patrolman Steven Turner responded to a Rifkin Court home for a report of a motor vehicle being driven across the yard and into the garage door. The resident was unable to provide any additional information. An investigation revealed tire tracks across the front yard leading to the garage door, which appeared to be impacted by the motor vehicle in question.
