Wildlife photography to be discussed

Wildlife photographer Alan Leckner will present “Challenges of Wildlife Photography: Butterflies, Birds, Bugs and Babies” at the Monmouth County Audubon Society meeting 8 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Church of the Nativity, Ridge Road, Fair Haven. The public is welcome; admission is free.

This audio-visual program will feature detailed images of butterflies, birds, bugs and babies photographed mostly in New Jersey, as well as from travels to Florida and the American West, according to a press release. The presentation is augmented by an interactive discussion of the critical aspects of general photographic techniques. Topics will include composition, lighting, use of equipment and more.

The program brings together all of Leckner’s photographic passions for making meaningful and artistic images. Leckner is an art director and heads his own graphic design firm. He is a lifelong photo enthusiast who began photographing wildlife in 1986. His work has been published in NY Alive Magazine, the Detroit Sunday Press and the Asbury Park Press. He is president emeritus of the Monmouth Camera Club, Colts Neck.
