Bell is worthy of consideration for Senate

I n the upcoming U.S. Senate race, as an “independent” voter, I have many questions. Why is there only one debate that Sen. Cory Booker has agreed to? Shouldn’t there be several debates? Jeff Bell, the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate who is now within a single-digit margin of incumbent Booker, has pushed for more debates.

Why is the media and the Republican Party establishment keeping such a low profile in this U.S. Senate race, which shows large contrasts between Bell and Booker? And why is the media giving Booker a free ride when it comes to his tenure as Newark mayor?

The high crime rate in Newark is unacceptable. The financial mismanagement has caught up with the city since it may require a state takeover.

Booker’s fundraising money comes from Wall Street and Hollywood celebrities; he has much more campaign money than Bell. The Republicans in Washington, D.C., are not investing in this U.S. Senate race, despite Bell being very close. He has done all his fundraising on his own through grassroots means.

Voters who want real change — not the make-believe change pledged by President Barack Obama — should strongly consider a populist candidate like Bell. He offers meaningful ideas that challenge the current economic system, which enslaves middleclass Americans and the poor.

Whichever way the establishment and media is leaning should be a sure-tell sign for voters to vote the opposite way. After all, we need less taxation, less government spending, controls over the Federal Reserve’s assault on Americans’ standard of living. Vote for principles, integrity and transparency. Deborah K.
