By Philip Sean Curran, Staff Writer
Four people, including a 16-year-old student, were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon after a school bus was hit head on by another car on Route 206.
A Rick Bus. Co. mini-school bus, travelling south, was flipped onto its right side after the impact around 2:48 p.m., Princeton police said. The other vehicle, a BMW sedan driven by Justin Thomas, 26, of Morris Plains, allegedly struck the left front bumper of the bus, police said.
The unidentified 16-year-old student, Geneva Smith, 71, a teacher’s aide, and the bus driver, Veronica McKinney, 44, of Trenton were all alert and conscious when first responders arrived, police said. All three were taken to University Medical Center of Princeton, police said.
Mr. Thomas was able to walk away from the accident, although he was taken to Capital Health Systems at Fuld for his injuries, police said.
No tickets have been issued, said police, who are being aided by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Unit during the investigation.
The accident closed part of the highway between Lovers Lane and Province Line Road.
