Temple to present Israeli art exhibit

Temple B’nai Shalom, in conjunction with Safrai Gallery of Jerusalem, Israel, will present an exhibition and sale of “Young and Old Masters of Israeli Art” Nov. 20-23 at the temple, Fern and Old Stage Road, East Brunswick.

The exhibition will include more than 1,500 works of art by more than 100 Israeli artists such as Marc Chagall, Shraga Weil, Amram Ebgi, Shemuel Katz, Moshe Castel, Reuven Rubin and Raphael Abecassis. It will include serigraphs, woodcuts, lithographs, etchings, monotypes, original oils and watercolors.

Menachem Safrai, the director of the Safrai Gallery, will be available throughout the exhibition to assist visitors and answer any questions about individual works.

The event will be open to the public for view and sale 7-10 p.m. Nov. 20; 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 21; 7-10 p.m. Nov. 22, which includes a wine and cheese reception for $18 per person; and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 23.
