Jane Mayo Ferguson

Jane Mayo Ferguson, 88, formerly of Metuchen, passed away Nov. 17, 2014. Jane was born in Plainfield on April 10, 1926, daughter of the late Ethel Morris Mayo and Sterling Mayo. She was a professor of early childhood education at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, and a past member of P.E.O. and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jane was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Ferguson. She is survived by two daughters, Glenn Ferguson Crowe and her husband, Jim, of Wayne, Pa.; Nancy Ferguson Duck of Tolland, Conn.; son, Paul M. Ferguson and his wife, Lynn, of Salina, Kan.; and grandchildren, Daniel, Brett and Peter Ferguson, of Denver, Col., Ryan Crowe of Manhattan, N.Y., and Kelly Crowe Ascolese of Leonardtown, Md.

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 5 at the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen.
