‘Movie Day’ supports foundation

MILLSTONE — The Millstone Township Foundation for Educational Excellence raised more than $3,900 from its fourth annual “Family Movie Day” held on Nov. 16 at the Millstone Performing Arts Center.

Proceeds will help provide grant funding for innovative classroom programs, educational opportunities for students, staff development, and state-of-the-art teaching materials that are beyond the scope of the general school budget to enrich education for the district’s public school students, according to a press release.

The event opened with 90 minutes of children’s activities including minute-towin it games with prizes, face painting, crafts and temporary tattoos. The activities were followed by a screening of “The Lego Movie” — a movie that won a student vote.
