Reformed Church Home earns Deficiency-Free honors in annual state survey

 News of Greater Media Newspapers’ advertisers News of Greater Media Newspapers’ advertisers Kate Shepard, executive director and administrator at Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge, is pleased to announce a Deficiency-Free Rating attained in the annual survey of skilled nursing facilities conducted by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. “This honor places Reformed Church Home among a handful of elite New Jersey nursing centers recognized for excellence in quality of care, and is a testament to the excellent nursing and management staff that uphold our high standards every day,” said Shepard.

The New Jersey Department of Health is responsible for regulating and inspecting nursing facilities to ensure compliance with mandatory state regulations, and conducts approximately 400 on-site licensure inspections each year. This is the fourth year of the last five years that Reformed Church Home was cited as deficiency-free.

The department is also responsible — under a contractual agreement with The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) — for ensuring that facilities meet federal regulations and certification rules if they accept Medicare and Medicaid for payment of services. Reformed Church Home has consistently received quarterly 5-star ratings by the CMS over the last several years.

In addition to these distinctions, Reformed Church Home has won several awards in 2014, including Best of the Best Assisted Living Community in Middlesex County per the annual Home News Tribune survey; the 2014 Providigm Embracing Quality Award for Exceptional Achievement – Deficiency-Free Survey and Customer Satisfaction; and received Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) accreditation, based on actions proactively taken to self-monitor, identify, and correct quality issues.
