Playhouse 22 presents “Doubt: A Parable” by John Patrick Shanley through January 18.
The drama is set in a fictional religious school in the Bronx in 1964. When a nun expresses concerns about the behavior of a progressive and beloved priest, explosive allegations are leveled against the priest, leaving all in doubt over their faith.
The show is directed by Walter H. Placzek and is part of Playhouse 22’s critically acclaimed “On the Edge” series. The series is an opportunity for directors to present lesser-known or smaller works that might not be suited for a full-scale production. The emphasis is on the play and the acting, not the costumes, props or special effects.
Some of the content is for mature audiences, and parental guidance is suggested.
All performances are at 8 p.m. Friday evenings, 8 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.
