Still-life exhibit opens at The Gallery

 “Abstract Still Life” by Stephanie Barbetti “Abstract Still Life” by Stephanie Barbetti Twenty-four local artists will exhibit works in “Classic Subjects: Still Life.” The exhibit, juried by Princeton artist Debra Weier, will run Jan. 16 to April 10 at The Gallery in the South Brunswick Municipal Building. An opening reception will be held 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 16.

A still life can be humorous or serious, lighthearted or profound. All these aspects are on display in this first of the 2015 series of “Local Artists, Classic Subjects.”

Exhibiting are John Sandstedt of Dayton; Stephanie Barbetti, Mary Allessio Leck and Edwin Santiago, all of Kendall Park; Rhonda Goodwin, Barbara Hochberg, Wendy Heisler and Andrea Orlando, all of Monmouth Junction; Catherine Martzloff of Cranbury; Don Bloom, Gerry Feldman and Vadim Levin, all of East Brunswick; Catherine Gowen of Princeton; Nancy Scott of Lawrenceville; Phil Welsher of Hillsborough; Indrani Choudhury of Edison; Lynn Cheng Varga of Yardville; James Occi of Cranford; N.J. DeVico and Monica Weinschenk, both of Titusville; Tammy DeVoe of Basking Ridge; Pico Reinoso and Leona Seufert, both of Roselle Park; and Theresa Hood of Glen Gardner.

 “African Violet in Green” by Pico Reinoso “African Violet in Green” by Pico Reinoso Weier is a book artist, arts educator, author and lecturer who has served on several grants panels for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. She selected the 32 works to be exhibited from more than 60 submitted.

The Gallery, located in the South Brunswick Municipal Building at 540 Route 522, Monmouth Junction, is open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays and evenings when meetings are scheduled.
