HILLSBOROUGH: Kids will exhibit at science fair Saturday

On stage this weekend, James Houston (of Bound Brook) and Tracey Fama (Hillsborough) rehearse a scene from Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” which will be performed by the Somerset Valley Players from March 6 through 22 at their theater at 689 Amwell Road (Route 514) in Hillsborough. Friday and Saturday evening shows are at 8 and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. General admission is $20, or $18 for seniors and students. Buy tickets at www.svptheatre.org. The show is directed by Todd R. Bennington and sponsored by Harriet G. Osinski. Mr. Simon’s comic tale is semi-autobiographical of his growing up in a 1937 Brooklyn Jewish household. We find a wise-cracking adolescent boy dreaming of baseball and girls and trying to make sense of his slightly off-the-wall but well-meaning family and the world around them. For info, call 908-369-7469.
