On March 7 the Freehold Regional High School District NJROTC Academy from Colts Neck High School, Route 537 and Five Points Road, Colts Neck, will host an all-service JROTC drill competition. This event will feature JROTC high school drill teams from New Jersey and other states, as well as the Colts Neck High School Navy JROTC. The event runs 8 a.m.-4 p.m., is open to the public and free to attend. Competitive events will include armed and unarmed regulation; armed, unarmed and dual exhibition; color guard; and personnel inspection. Refreshments will be available for purchase all day.

Spring ham shoots will take place at Jackson VFW Post No. 4703, 54 Magnolia Drive, Jackson, 1-4 p.m. March 8. The shoots will be held every Sunday, except Easter Sunday, until May 17.
