 St. Rose of Lima Parish in Freehold is holding a Buy a Roof Shingle campaign to raise funds for a new Habitat for Humanity House on Center Street that the parish is jointly building with the Colts Neck Reformed Church. Each roof shingle costs $10 and comes with a certificate that is suitable for gift giving, including a birthday or anniversary, or in honor or memory of a loved one or simply as a donation.  On March 7, the Freehold Regional High School District NJROTC Academy from Colts Neck High School, Route 537 and Five Points Road, Colts Neck, will host an all-service JROTC drill competition. This event will feature JROTC high school drill teams from New Jersey and other states, as well as the Colts Neck High School Navy JROTC. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., is open to the public and free to attend. Competitive events will include armed and unarmed regulation; armed, unarmed and dual exhibition; color guard; and personnel inspection. Refreshments will be available for purchase all day.

 Siloam United Methodist Church, 67 Siloam Road (Route 527), Freehold Township, will hold its annual corned beef and cabbage dinner from 4-6 p.m. March 14. The donation for this buffet style, all-youcan eat dinner is $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Details: 732-928- 0193.

 The 12th annual Park Avenue Elementary School PTO gift basket raffle will take place at the school, 280 Park Ave., Freehold, on March 7. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the raffle will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10, including a door prize chance, coffee, tea and dessert. Must be 18 years of age and older.

 The Freehold Memorial Day Parade Committee, in conjunction with TGI Friday’s restaurant, 3492 Route 9 south, Freehold Township, will hold a benefit day for the 2015 parade from noon to 10 p.m. March 24. The parade committee will receive 20 percent of one’s pre-tax, pre-liquor bill as a donation.

 The Bimah Players Community Theater is auditioning adults and children for “Beastly Encounters,” an original comedy with music about animals based on works by Kipling, Chekhov and others.
