Students to stage ‘Cats’ once again
March 13 and 14 — Hillsborough High School Theatre will present “Cats” as its spring musical. Based on the poetry of T.S. Eliot, “Cats” tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heavyside Layer. “Cats” will be presented at the high school, 466 Raider Blvd. Evening performances on Friday and Saturday begin at 7 p.m. and Saturday matinees is at 1 p.m. All tickets are $15 with reserved seating. Ladies auxiliary will hold indoor flea market at town hall
Sat., March 14 — An indoor flea market will be held by the Ladies Auxiliary of Hillsborough Fire Co. No. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the municipal building on South Branch Road. Hot food and homemade salads and desserts for sale.
Kehilat Shalom will throw spring auction, party night
Sat., March 14 — Congregation Kehilat Shalom at 253 Belle Mead–Griggstown Road will hold a “Treasures of the Blue Grotto” spring party and auction from 7:30-11 p.m. The event will include a silent auction, a DJ, karaoke, dancing, piano lounge and a mystery wine station. Reformed Church offers corned beef dinner, bake sale
Sat., March 14 — A corned beef dinner and bake sale will be held at the South Branch Reformed Church, 870 River Road, Hillsborough, 4:30-7 p.m. Adults $14, children 6-12 $6, and children 5 and under eat free. Auxiliary’s flea market seeks vendors and crafters for event
Sat., March 14 — Vendors and crafters are wanted for indoor/outdoor flea market and craft show, 9 a.m-2 p.m., VFW hall, 600 Washington Ave., Manville, to benefit Manville First Aid & Rescue Squad Auxiliary. Ex-NFL pros will play hoops at Manville school
Sat., March 14 — Members of the NFL Alumni Association will take on Manville teachers and personalities in a fund-raising basketball game in the gym of Manville High School on North 13th Avenue from 6-9 p.m.
Multiple games between pros and local teams, VIP reception, silent auction, tricky tray, meet-and-greet with the players. Doors open at 6 p.m. Advance tickets $10 for games only, $30 for games and VIP session. Tickets at the door are $15 for games only, and $35 for games and VIP session, which includes autographs with the pros and celebrity guests and reserved game seating.

Pianist will combine old with new in church concert
Sun., March 15 — Matthew Odell will blend classics and modern piano works of Brahms, Ravel, Messiaen and others in an eclectic concert program at 4 p.m. at Hillsborough Reformed Church at Millstone, 1 Amwell Road.
Mr. Odell is a founding member of the Hampton Trio, a group involved in presenting pieces from the established repertoire alongside newly commissioned works. Mr. Odell’s special love of the art song repertoire has resulted in countless recitals with singers from around the world.

Animal book signing benefits rescue group
Sun., March 15 — Hunterdon Animal Rescue Team and the Coalition for Animals will hold a book signing and cat adoption event at Pay Valu, off Route 206 and Amwell Road in Hillsborough, from noon to 4 p.m.
Cat adoption will be held from noon to 4 p.m.
Loren Spiotta-DiMare of Tewksbury and Becky Kwiatkowski of Long Valley are the animal book authors. Several of their books feature animal rescue. A portion of proceeds from the signing will be shared with Hunterdon Animal Rescue.
Fish dinner buffet coming to St. Joseph’s Church
Fri., March 20 — St. Joseph Church will hold its 9th annual fish dinner buffet at the church at 34 Yorktown Road, Hillsborough, 4:30 to 8 p.m. Fried cod, butter lemon and blackened tilapia, clam strips, popcorn shrimp, fish sticks, macaroni & cheese, french fries, onion rings, mixed vegetables, cole slaw, rice, salad, dessert. Adults (13 and older) and all take-outs: $12. Seniors (65 and older), $10; children (5-12), $5 and younger than 5 eat free.
Basket auction benefits Sunnymead school group
Fri., March 20 — The Sunnymead HSA will hold its “Crystal Bright Future” basket auction at the Polish Falcons Catering Hall at 140 Falcon Road. Doors open at 6 p.m.; auction begins at 7:30. Admission of $20 includes light refreshments, desserts per table and one sheet of 26 Level 1 tickets!

Judges will share tips on flower arrangements
Thurs., March 26 — Jeannie Geremia will demonstrate the element of color in a finished design flower arranging enrichment segment for the Neshanic Garden Club’s monthly meeting at 9:45 a.m. at the Montgomery United Methodist Church, 117 Sunset Road, off Route 206 South in Belle Mead.
Garden Club of New Jersey flower show judges will be a floral arrangement for description and critiques by colleagues. Learning firsthand from experienced judges may give you an edge at the next flower show.

Sat., March 28 — Somerset Valley Players is having a Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser for the theater on Amwell Road in Hillsborough.

Learn about library resources for help in your job search
Wed., April 1 — Amy Atzert, adult services librarian and business and job seeker liaison for the Bridgewater branch of the Somerset County Library System, will speak on job and career resources at the library in a program from 7-9 p.m. by Jewish Family Service of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties for job seekers who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career change. The group will meet at JFS, 150-A West High St., Somerville.

Rotary Club will host annual Easter egg hunt
Sat., April 4 — The Hillsborough Rotary Club’s annual Easter egg hunt, a free event for children 8 years old and younger, begins at 10 a.m. sharp at Pheasant’s Landing, 311 Amwell Road
The Easter Bunny and 3,000 treat-filled eggs await children, who will be organized into three age groups for the hunt. Hot dogs and hot chocolate will be served afterwards. Family and friends are encouraged to bring cameras.
