 The Nocturnes Big Band and vocalist Cheryl Parker will perform a benefit concert at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 434 Aldrich Road, Howell, at 3 p.m. March 28.  The Friends of the Plumsted Township Library, 119 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, will collect books from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 4 for future book sales. Fiction, nonfiction, large print books, children’s books, CDs, DVDs, audio books and jigsaw puzzles are accepted. Individuals are asked not to donate soiled or mildewed items. Videotapes, Readers Digest condensed books, magazines and encyclopedias are not accepted. Drop books off behind the library. Do not leave items if no one is present.
