Police on lookout for suspect in robbery of Edison bank

EDISON — Police are searching for the suspect who robbed the TD Bank on Oak Tree Road last week.

The man entered the bank at 4:30 p.m. March 17 and passed a teller a note demanding money and claiming that he had a gun, though he did not brandish a weapon, according to police.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the bank, heading east, police said.

The suspect was described as a heavyset, black male in his mid-to-late 30s. He had a dark complexion and facial stubble, and some gray hair. He was between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black leather jacket and gray shirt, with a neon-yellow safety-style vest and a gray baseball cap with a black brim and an “OBEY” logo in black, along with clear safety glasses. He wore baggy, light-colored denim jeans and black sneakers with white soles, according to police.
