Pair facing drug charges

UPPER FREEHOLD— A resident of Bayville and a resident of Howell are facing drug charges following a motor vehicle stop on Davis Station Road.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn said Alexis Cornish, 19, of Bayville, and Miles Wagman, 25, of Howell, were traveling on Davis Station Road at 2:06 p.m. April 4 when Trooper Frederick C. Peters stopped the vehicle after observing a moving violation.

Wagman was driving the vehicle, and Cornish was in the passenger seat.

Police said Cornish was found to be in possession of 61 glassine bags of a substance believed to be heroin.

The substance was packaged in rubberbanded bundles of 10 that police said are commonly associated with street-level distribution methods of between a half-ounce to 5 ounces.

Cornish was charged with possession of heroin. Bail was set at $50,000, and Cornish was placed in the Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township.

Wagman was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Flynn. Bail for Wagman was set at $50,000, and he was placed in the county jail.
