 A multifamily community yard sale will take place 8 a.m.-1 p.m. May 9 at Jensen’s Deep Run Community Center, 20 Longview Trail (off Route 537), Cream Ridge. This is a rain-or-shine event.

 The Horsemen’s Association of Millstone Township will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. May 19 at the Millstone Community Center, Stagecoach Road, next to the firehouse. This month, the association is featuring a farrier as the guest speaker. Anyone who has questions about when to shoe a horse, go barefoot or use boots, this is the opportunity to expand one’s knowledge of the topic.  The Italian American Cultural Society of New Jersey will hold a dinner meeting at 7 p.m. May 14 at Christie’s Italian Seafood Grill, 2420 Route 9 South, Howell. The meeting will include food and wine. Guest speaker Tony De Nonno will give a lecture and demonstration about Sicilian marionette traditions. The cost is $35 for members and $45 for nonmembers.  The Selective Service is looking for men and women who would be willing to serve as members of local boards. Local board members are volunteers appointed by the president. They play an important community role closely connected with the nation’s defense. Potential members must be citizens, at least 18 years old, not employed in any law enforcement job, not an active or retired member of the armed forces, and not have been convicted of any criminal offense.
