MARLBORO — Veterans in the township will be honored and celebrated as Marlboro holds its seventh annual Memorial Day parade.
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. May 17 at the Marlboro Mall, Route 79 and School Road West. The parade will travel along School Road West, to Wyncrest Road, and end at the township’s veterans memorial.
The grand marshal is Allen Saltzman, a veteran and township resident. The parade will include the Naval Military Honor Guard from Naval Weapons Station Earle, the Jewish War Veterans and many invited guests and organizations.
The ceremony will feature special guest Capt. Sharrah Jones, an operations officer from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and Monmouth County Freeholder John Curley. After the parade, there will be light refreshments in Town Hall, open to everyone.
Parking is available at the Marlboro Elementary School on School Road West, the Marlboro Recreation Community Center on Wyncrest Road and the Monmouth Heights swim club parking lot on School Road West. Parking will not be permitted along the parade route.
