Upcoming events at the Hopewell Public Library include:
Help name our Ox!
The “Aloha” ox from last autumn’s Stampede has found permanent grazing ground in front of the Hopewell Public Library. Library patron Sylvie Mayer is the artist.
During June, stop in the library and put a name suggestion in the collection box. The name will be revealed July 1 at 5 p.m. at the start of summer reading activities.
Summer Reading Program: The summer theme is “Every Hero has a Story.” Registration begins June 22.
Book Club (July 6) meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the library. Copies of each month’s book are available for checkout. For July the selection is “Rasputin’s Daughter” by Robert Alexander.
Cookbook Book Club (June 18) is a new book club.
Each month features a different cookbook. As well as a book discussion, each participant will choose a recipe from the cookbook and prepare a dish to share at the meeting.
The meeting is free, but signup is required. Stop by the library to sign up for the meeting and pick up a copy of the cookbook of the month.
The club will meet the third Thursday of each month at the library from 7 to 8 p.m.
Storytime every Monday morning at 10:30 a.m., preschoolers and their adult companions are invited to gather in the upstairs children’s room for stories, songs and activities.
Getting Comfortable with Computers will be held at 1 p.m. the first Monday of each month. The library’s technologist will answer questions on using computers, the Internet, the World Wide Web and the digital world.

Events at the Pennington Public Library include:
Rhyme Time Storytime (new) is held Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
Being able to hear and produce rhyming words are stepping stones on the way to learning phonics. The new Rhyme Time story times are free interactive sessions for children under 5 and their families. Join in with singing or rattle a shaker to well-known songs and rhymes, books and a small craft.
Book discussion group is held the first Thursday of the month at 2 p.m.
Drop by the monthly book discussion group for conversation. Registration is not necessary; all are welcome. Call for titles: 609-737-0404.
Too-Busy-for-Books Book Club is held the second Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and features stories no longer than 50,000 words.,
Knit ‘n’ Chat is held the third Tuesday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Join for social time while knitting. Old, young, beginners, skilled, male, female and also crocheters are welcome. Bring a current project or start a new one.
This is not a knitting class; no instruction is provided although attendees are welcome to help each other. This is a drop-in group; no registration is required.
Every Wednesday at 10 a.m., the library holds English language conversation sessions.
Meeting leader Bambi Hegedus has tutored professionally and on a volunteer basis for more than 25 years. Participants should have some knowledge of English. Emphasis will be on learning practical phrases and will be determined by the needs of the participants.

Tai Chi is an ancient art created to promote good health and relaxation. Join Mondays from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. to learn the basics. No registration is necessary.
