HIGHTSTOWN: East Windsor PAL Travel Soccer

The East Windsor PAL U13 Storm traveled to Red Bank and managed to keep their focus throughout multiple lighting delays to pull out a 5-1 win over the Rapids.
The Storm started with good offensive pressure that Red Bank managed to hold off until Grace O’Leary finally planted a cross from Ragan McKenna above the outstretched keepers hands.
After the Rapids tied it, Mikayla Capasso scored off a rebound putting Storm ahead to end a half hastened by more lightning delays. Laila Aly took a pass from O’Leary by two defenders on the left wing and placed a perfect shot into the far right netting.
Quickly following that Lili Iavarone kept the ball in the offensive half and deftly passed to Payton Rupp who found O’Leary streaking up the middle to place it in the left netting. O’Leary finished the day passing two defenders on the left sideline, crossing the ball to the goal line where McKenna was waiting to ensure the goal.
The U9 Arsenal continued its winning ways with a 2-1 victory over the Wall SC Rockets. Scoring for Arsenal was Rachael Charsky off a direct free kick and Charlotte Garcia who received the assist from Allie Szelag.
The Arsenal defense once again proved to be powerful with Anna Zappola, Marcella Hirschman and Jordyn McGeorge continually stopping the strong Wall attack. Radha Ghate made several game saving plays in goal in the final frantic 5 minutes. The Arsenal remain in first place and undefeated with three games to play.
